International Summit on Climate Change at Markaz Knowledge City
The international summit on climate change will be held at Markaz Knowledge City, Kerala, India, during 17 -19 October 2022. The summit provides a global platform for researchers, scientists, university leaders and political decision-makers an opportunity to share their research findings, results and recommendations on measures to reduce the impact of climate change across the world.
The summit is co-organized by the Cairo-based Islamic Universities League and Calicut-based Jamia Markaz. 200 delegates, mostly vice-chancellors and rectors of international universities, from 40 countries are taking part in the summit at Markaz Knowledge City Convention Centre in Kozhikode.
Climate change is no more fiction. It is a reality. It is a threat to the future of our planet, but it is never too late to act. The delegates of the summit will discuss measures to reduce the effects of climate change. As a dominant academic association with the membership of more than 200 universities from Asia, America, Europe and Africa. Islamic Universities League is considered a significant voice in international policy-making forums.
This is the first time that such a comprehensive summit of the Universities League is being held in a non-Arab nation. The summit will also launch 'The Malabar Climate Action Declaration', which will announce what position we have to take on climate change. This declaration will act as a guideline for the global community on climate action.
